cheap finds to be inspired by...

i love browsing through other bloggers great finds, so i decided to pick a few of my crazy cheap decor pieces for a short post. So be inspired, it always feels good to know you don't have to spend hundreds for a beautiful look.

i wish i could really get the detail of this beautiful mirrored frame to show up. can you guess how much for this HUGE, VICTORIAN, HAND CRAFTED, BEVELED MIRRORED FRAME ... FREE! yes , free.  Saw it leaning against my neighbors trash can and snatched it ! Of course it needed a little work, but not to much! This will be hung in the dining room of course when its finished.  Covered the old victorian print with fabric and some of the fabric glue showed through.  Therefor i will be recovering it, maybe even with a different fabric! oh, did i mention it was FREE??

here is the best i can do to give the frame its justice, beautiful!!!

okay for my next fav!
my adorable little glass table birdie!
how much ? 39 cents
So vintage farm!

and last but not least, my new LOVE of the kitchen!
my vintage wired fruit bowl!
I LOVE IT, this was 8 bucks!
originally a lot more!
love this look.

for five bucks...

This was yet another fun project our two crafty minds construed together!  I had been searching around for old windows here n there but couldn't seem to find one for a dirt cheap price.  I found one about an hour away that was LITERALLY falling to pieces and he wanted 24$ bucks. yeah right.
While i was looking around at the antique show i found a pair of windows leaning against a table and just as i walked by.. gazed like a deer in headlights with my eye on the prize an older man from a distance shouts "FIVE BUCKS FOR THOSE" ... immediately SOLD! I was so happy! I just love the look of an old dirty window hanging on a bare wall.  It's such a chic french farm look! When i was just about to hang it on the wall, gram was holding it up so i could see what was wrong... it was too bare. So check it out, its one of my favorite ideas yet . if you would like to order one let me know!

*of course the picture of the chandelier crystals is my favorite part; so glam!

the magical outcomes. a weekend with gramma kay

hi everyone!
sorry it has been so long since i have been able to update you all!  The past five days i have been put to work hard by the one and only gramma kay!  First we traveled around six hours to hagerstown, Maryland to meet halfway with gram and gramp!  Brielle was excellent to say the least!

We stayed the night and hitched the trailer packed full of vintage finds to the back of the truck!  I could not wait to unlock the treasure chest dragging behind us , so when we got home after who knows how long of driving (and sean's procrastinations) sean was ready to hit the hay, but gram and i? we wanted to get started... so we did.  Don't ever underestimate a woman! We pulled as much out as we could at a time until sean decided to pitch in!  My heart immediately was full of joy!  These are only a few pictures of some of the projects we started on.  I can't wait for everything to be finished so i can take a final picture of the rooms finished!  But come on, lets be realistic!  Thanks for stopping in!

i found this sign on the drive home at a gas station tag sale!

a little sneak peek for everyone of the bed ! its stunning to say the least

wait until you see this finished

we are packed full!

working away.

more to follow. sorry if i overloaded you with pictures!
